I Love Italian travel - attractions in December in northern Italy, part 3

So you are planning to visit northern Italy, in December, but unsure of what to see and what to do. Do not despair, there are many, many special events that are not simply in time the previous summer. Here are some of them. Get Rolling, December is at the door. We begin our virtual tour of the Emilia-Romagna, on the east coast of the Gulf of Venice, and then east to Liguria, the Italian Riviera. There are tons of Christmas markets in the region Emilia-Romagna during the month of December. Check the data carefully. Given the reputation of the region, its not surprising that many of these Christmas markets focus on gastronomy and handicrafts. As added attraction, many of these Christmas markets in huts instead.

Basilica di Bologna is made up of several churches interconnected. The oldest building is the Holy VitaleAgricola E, which includes a crib fourteenth century. The seaside town of Cesenatico is home to a very special crib floating in the harbor by none other than Leonardo Da Vinci designed. Be sure to see him in the night.

Bologna traditionally celebrated New Year with Fiera del Bue Grasso (Fat ox fair), which is an ox decked with flowers and ribbons from the horns to tail. The church bells ring, people light candles and enjoy the fireworks. The celebration concludeswith a lottery where the winner gets to keep the oxen. The seaside resort of Rimini has a huge New Year's Eve in Piazzale Fellini. There is music, dance and entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display, but beef lovers need to go to Bologna.

Liguria on the Italian Riviera is a tourist destination for much of the year. Not surprisingly, it's pretty quiet in the winter months. However, there are some activities to enjoy in winter. For example, the SanRemo Yacht Club Winter Championship holds numerous races in November, December, January and during the weekend.

Like everywhere in Italy, Christmas is a very important moment for most of Liguria. Villages and towns in Liguria offer including live include Nativity Calizzano, Diano Arentino and Roccavignale. Ligurian capital and major cities, Genoa is the home of NATALIDEA-IDEANEVE for about a week in mid-December.
